Simple Tech Lessons respects client privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and process when someone visits our website, books a tutoring session, makes a payment, contacts us, or participates in a scheduled session.
2. Information We Collect
When a client books or requests a tutoring session, we may collect:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Selected instructor
- Appointment date and time
- A description of the technology help requested
- Booking and payment status
- Information voluntarily provided through communications with us
Normal website and server operations may also process technical information such as an IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, and security or diagnostic information.
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Simple Tech Lessons does not directly collect or store full credit or debit card numbers or card security codes. Stripe processes payment information according to Stripe's own privacy and security practices. Simple Tech Lessons does not have access to complete card information.
4. Google Calendar and Google Meet
Simple Tech Lessons uses Google Calendar API access only for the authorized instructor accounts used by the business. This access is used to:
- Create tutoring appointment calendar events
- Schedule the selected instructor
- Invite the client to the appointment
- Generate a Google Meet link
- Maintain information necessary to manage those appointments
Simple Tech Lessons does not access a client's personal Google Calendar through this booking system. Google OAuth authorization is performed by the Simple Tech Lessons instructor accounts.
Long-lived Google authorization credentials are securely encrypted before storage. Google access tokens and refresh tokens are not sold, shared for advertising, or used for unrelated purposes.
Simple Tech Lessons' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. How Information Is Used
We may use information as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Processing bookings and preventing double bookings
- Processing payments
- Creating tutoring appointments and providing Google Meet access
- Communicating about appointments and providing customer support
- Fraud and security prevention
- Maintaining and improving website reliability
- Meeting applicable legal and accounting obligations
6. How Information Is Shared
Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Simple Tech Lessons, including:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Google for Google Calendar and Google Meet functionality
- Cloudflare for website hosting, security, serverless processing, and database infrastructure
Simple Tech Lessons does not sell personal information.
7. Data Storage and Security
Booking information is stored using Cloudflare infrastructure. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect the information we handle. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Google OAuth refresh tokens used by the system are encrypted before being stored.
8. Data Retention
Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for providing services, maintaining business and transaction records, resolving disputes, supporting security, and complying with applicable legal or accounting obligations.
9. Client Choices and Requests
Clients may contact contact@simpletechlessons.com to ask questions about their information or request correction or deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or transaction purposes.
10. Third-Party Services
Stripe, Google, and Cloudflare maintain their own privacy policies and data-handling practices. Their processing of information is governed by their respective policies and applicable terms.
11. Children
Simple Tech Lessons services are not specifically directed to children under 13. Parents or guardians should contact Simple Tech Lessons before arranging services for a child.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
